I heard yesterday or maybe the day before or some (frank)ing time as there is a lot of draft talk going on, anyway it was said that he potentially is the most talented player in the draft. Is this true and if so why would he slid when a guy like RNH really is only taller?

Not that anyone would care, but here is what our head scout has said on two guys. Forsberg and Grigorenko so far, I suspect 3 more this week. Last year it was clear when he did the breakdowns in May who we were going to take.

Scouting Report: "He's a big winger who is a great skater and has an excellent shot. What I like is he plays the hard minutes."

Projection: "He's a poor man's (Gabriel) Landeskog is what he is. I don't think he has quite as much grind in him, but he shoots the puck probably better. He scores goals differently, from a little further back, where Landeskog scores more from around the net."

NHL Comparable: "Gabriel Landeskog."

Scouting Report: "A big center who's a great skater. He has exceptional hockey skills and vision."

Projection: "Depending on what team he's on, he'll be a No. 1 or No. 2 center."

Weaknesses: "He needs to get physically bigger, to fill out. He needs to learn to play a 200-foot game and he needs to develop that consistent shift-to-shift game. He has to maintain a higher level of play shift-to-shift."

NHL Comparable: "I think he's like an Eric Staal."

Yea, he's up there as likely the most talented. But he's a perimeter player, and isn't a CHL player, so it's harder to know how his game will translate.

(This isn't a knock on you Huddle)
But i'm tired of scouts , and other people saying "his size comes into question ETC"

If you want to succeed, it doesn't matter how tall you are.. ( Unless you are like 3 feet ofcourse, but you know what I mean)

Karlsson was drafted listed as (157!!) pounds, and now people are saying hes one of the best OFD in the game, given this is only his second good season.

Players like Ennis, Skinner?, St.Louis are all great players.
Yes they are small, but they can succeed if the work ethic is there.
/End rant
Sorry!!

Gotta think Minny at least considers Trouba. They need D and he is a hometown boy.

Here's my take on size. I think size is a premium. A couple inches means you can lean in on a checker and gives you give leverage in holding onto the puck. That said, I believe in looking at a height/weight ratio, rather than looking completely at size.

Chiarelli had something great to say on the subject, saying that Boston targets heavier players, not tall players. They think a better center of gravity correlates better to the NHL than a lanky 6'4, 160 lb forward who MIGHT be able to add weight.

Essentially it comes down to strength. If a player can find a good core strength to endure the rigors of the NHL, and maintain his skill level through that, that's what matters. The question will come up with a guy like TT because of the fact that he gets pushed to the perimeter and has a hard time getting into scoring areas because of his lack of strength. It's a question mark. Not saying he can't ever, but its more risk because he still has to pt on the weight, get stronger, and hope it doesn't affect how he moves, and his skills.

Very excited with the draft this year, so many questions to be answered..
Do you think possibly Nash hasn't been moved yet because a team is waiting on if the player they want is still there when they select possibly?
Now with this whole Pavelic problem, will the jets persue Lu?

I love the draft

EDIT : And I also hate Blizzard for putting downtime on starcraft..

Starcraft? meh, I played Diablo 3 and beat it 3 times. I enjoyed it but it's nothing like Diablo 2, Starcraft was fun as a kid when I was bored but S2 doesn't thrill me. RTS games bug me cause I like to rush in and attack everything immediately.
